Klax are the newest talents to join Kasra’s Critical Music camp and the latest act to deliver a mix for our Fresh Kicks series.
Hailing from Brighton, the trio have appeared on Critical several times over the past few years, dropping cuts via the label’s Binary and Systems series.
Now Klax have stepped up again with their first non-series EP, ‘Rekanize’, a four-track toolkit of boisterous half-time (‘Rekanize’), jukey percussion (‘Risk It’), smooth rolling bass (‘The Sway’) and grinding tech (‘Flouro Riddim’).
The boys’ Fresh Kicks mix is similarly varied, relying heavily on low-slung b-lines throughout to weave a journey through the genre that many seem unfortunately afraid to do nowadays.
Check out the mix below and head over to the Critical store (https://shop.criticalmusic.com/) to grab a copy of the ‘Rakanize’ EP now.
